Vikki Belling wanted to be a Pop Star, but instead went to University straight after Year 12. After completing her Psychology degree in 1984, she joined the Australian Public Service and trained as an Audiologist.
Over the coming 25 years, she has worked as an Audiologist, Psychologist and Rehabilitation Counsellor in Australia, the UK, Botswana and Canada and published many technical articles, training manuals and academic papers.
Throughout her travels, she has visited some 60 countries and has written numerous short stories, poems, travel pieces and articles for magazines, ezines and the Writes of Passage Blog.
In 2008, she returned to her first love, creative writing, by establishing herself as a Freelance Writer and Consultant. Her clips incude: ‘An Aussie in Canada’ and ‘Fire Up the Barbie Mate’ for the Calgary Herald, a humour column “The Write Stuff” for the AWCSW News in the U.S.
Back in Oz, she has written Book Reviews and Film Reviews for the Pine Rivers Press and Mango Hill News and a Last Word column for Writing Queensland. Her more recent publications include a poetry anthology – ”Decades”, which chronicles her lifelong love of poetry and a number of WordPress blogs on writing, the future, baby boomers and softball.
Vikki lives in sunny Queensland and is currently working on her 5th novel, ”The Last Baby Bloomer”, also the title of latest blog.
